Obituary of Annemarie Fink

August 1, 1936 – Bochold, Germany

July 15, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Annemarie Fink, beloved wife of Oscar Fink, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the age of 87 years in Calgary, AB.

Born in Bochold, Germany, and raised as an Austrian citizen from the age of three by her Austrian parents, Annemarie immigrated to Canada at the age of 20, where she met Oscar Fink and married on October 8, 1960. Annemarie took great pride in raising her four daughters and working in retail customer service during her career.

As the daughter of a tailor, she enjoyed sewing and material crafts. From her mother, who was a trained cook, she inherited her skill of baking and shared this art by producing fabulous seasonal cakes and cookies. She also shared her passion for beach vacations with her husband, creating countless memories on the shores of Cuba and Mexico with family and friends.

Annemarie will be deeply missed by her husband Oscar, her four daughters, Rosemarie, Ursula, Karen, and Angelika; her seven grandchildren, Carissa, Ryan, Kendra, Sephra, Kalum, Matthew, and Benjamin; and her six great-grandchildren, Bryson, Alyssa, Oscar, Cayde, Beckett, and Hayden.

Annemarie was predeceased by her three brothers, Ernest, Siegfried, and Adolf; her sisters, Erika and Waltraud; and her parents, Josef and Anna. The only surviving member of the family is her youngest sister, Renate.

Annemarie will be most remembered for her impeccable style and love of classical music and opera. She was a self-reliant woman, who raised her children to become strong and independent as well. She instilled the values of education, humility, and grace. Muttie/Oma, we love you, we will miss you, and we will always remember you.
