Obituary of Dermot Anthony O'Neill

September 17, 1933 – Dublin, Ireland

July 16, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Dermot passed away peacefully at Bow View Manor in Calgary, AB, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the age of 90 years.

Dermot is survived by his wife Sheila and his three sons, David (Debbie), Ian (Tammy), and Shane (Laurie); as well as stepsons, John, Christopher, and Patrick (Maggie); and three grandchildren, Kate, Kirsten, and Kiera. He is also survived by his sisters, Anne and Margaret, and his brother David, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dermot was predeceased by his parents, William and Elizabeth; seven of his beloved siblings, and his wife of 32 years, Phyllis O’Neill (nee Wilson).

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Parish (East of the James Walker Trail and Highway 22 intersection, 10 River Heights Drive, Cochrane, AB) on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall of the Church.

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Dermot's service streamed live (see link below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.
