Obituary of Francine Albina Nielsen-Chislett

June 3, 1946 – Grand Falls, New Brunswick

July 16, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Francine A. Nielsen-Chislett (née Clavette), beloved wife of Melvyn D. Chislett of 47 years, passed away at the South Health Campus, in Calgary, AB, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 78 years of age. Her husband was by her side as she transitioned into God’s promised eternal life.

 

She joins her parents, Lionel Clavette and Gertrude Thériault, of Grand Falls, NB; and brothers, Jean-Guy, Norbert, and Pierre (Maggie).

 

Fran was the proud mother of Christopher Nielsen (Suzan Henri), loving and devoted Nana to Jacob (Julia), Zachary, and Nathan. She also leaves behind her twin sister Françoise, sister Jocelyne, brother André (Danièle Dubé), and many nieces and nephews.

 

Francine was a graduate from Edmundston Business College. She greatly enjoyed the career she led in Montreal up until her retirement. She then accompanied her husband to many of his work locations, and finally settled down in Calgary.

 

Fran loved her family, her friends, nature and animals, especially her pets, and had many different hobbies over the years. She enjoyed gardening, skiing, reading, golfing, bowling, quilting, knitting, needle point, boating, motor cycling, camping, and traveling.

 

The family is grateful for the help and care provided by the healthcare professionals of the Bethany Riverview Residence.
