Dear Sue, Dean and Grant. I want to send my condolences on the passing of your mom Addie. I remember her so well from my teen years, hanging out at your place in Springbank while Sue chased Dean around the house with a piece of meat on a fork! She was always a calm presence, serenely carrying on baking while comments flew across the kitchen. She and Mom kept the Junior High and SCHS running smoothly through many iterations of principals. I can see them in my mind’s eye, phoning each other at the school to get the real goods on students and teachers alike. They were part of the fabric of the community; the strong thread that held together the schools and all the kids. It is a lasting legacy. The school secretary is the often unsung hero of every school. Addie’s wit always enlivened every conversation and I know you shall all miss her terribly. She’ll be keeping herself busy playing Scrabble and Uno and having a good chin wag with Dixie about all the kids and teachers. RIP
