Condolences
I have many fond memories of Art and his family, especially visits to their house in Lake Bonavista. As a child I thought Rob and Dave were so lucky to have so many fun things to do in their backyard; fishing, swimming, paddleboating, computer games, etc. But I also appreciated how this was balanced with Art and Helen's emphasis on hard work, musical endeavours, academic achievement, and career paths, which has had a lasting impact on my own life choices. Thank you for all the fun times Art, you will be fondly remembered.
Helen. On behalf of everyone at the Royal Conservatory but especially Rosemary and I, we express our sincerest condolences. Art was so very committed to serving the music community in Calgary with a good exam experience every time. He will surely be missed.
Dear Helen. So sorry about your loss. Art was such a great and kind man. We will remember him with sincere thoughts! Take Care! Joan and Gordon Moore

Dear Helen and family,
Arnie and I were very sorry to hear of Art's death. We both enjoyed visiting with you both only a few months ago, catching up on what had been happening in our lives. Art was very proud of his family and their accomplishments. We know he was a special Grandpa. He will be missed. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.
Jan and Arnie
My condolences to Helen, Dave, Rob and the rest of the Mitchell family.
The passing of “Uncle” Art has to be a shock and a sad event to everyone who knew him. He will always be remembered for his wit and his patience with his boys and their mischievous friends. The number of times Art would chuckle, shake his head and attempt to correct our ways are too numerous to count (“You guys know that sound travels across water, right?” -If you know, you know).
From being a volunteer and mentor with the All Saints youth group to giving ideas on home projects, Art was always there for advice and support. He will live on in the hearts and memories to all that he met and influenced in life.
Most heartfelt condolences – Lonni Swanson
