It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Olga Blum on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the age of 98 years.

Born in Bucharest on May 11, 1926, Olga lived a long, healthy, and fulfilling life. Olga was the cherished daughter of Rebekah and Heinreich Silberman. She spent her early years in Bucharest, Romania, before moving to Calgary, AB, where she built a life filled with community, family, and love.

Olga was an infinitely compassionate and caring person; she emitted joy and optimism throughout her long life, which reflected through her family, friends, and the community she lived in.

Olga had a passion for gardening, which brought her happiness and peace throughout her life. Her garden was a testament to her patience, dedication, and love for nature. In addition to gardening, she enjoyed cooking and knitting; finding joy in creating and sharing with others. Her culinary skills were well known among family and friends, with her kitchen often filled with the aroma of her favorite recipes.

She was acclaimed for her warm hospitality, welcoming guests with an empathetic smile and a heart full of kindness. Her home was a gathering place for family celebrations and meaningful conversations. Olga shared stories and traditions that will be cherished for generations to come.

Predeceased by her loving husband Robert Blum, Olga is survived by her son Martin Blum, and her grandchildren, Adah and Eric. Her memory will forever be treasured by those who knew her.

Graveside Services will be held at Beth Tzedec Memorial Park, (122 Shalom Way SE, Calgary, AB T2Y 3P3) on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the life of this remarkable woman.
