Obituary of Dennis William Tegenkamp

January 9, 1934 – Bruno, Saskatchewan

July 20, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Dennis Tegenkamp, beloved husband of Dolores Tegenkamp (nee Martens), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the age of 90 years.

 

Dennis was born in Bruno, SK, on January 9, 1934. He was raised on a farm and moved to Alberta with his brother in 1956.

 

For thirty years, Dennis worked for Westburne Drilling in the Oil Patch, working his way from Roughneck to Toolpusher.

 

Besides his loving wife, Dennis is survived by his five children, Catherine Wells of Calgary, AB, Michael Tegenkamp of Diamond Valley, AB, Bonnie Tegenkamp of Calgary, AB, Darlene Tegenkamp of Victoria, BC, and Lisa Tegenkamp of Surrey, BC; as well as his grandchildren, Scott Tegenkamp of Calgary, AB, Justine Wells of Barrie, ON, and Jaxon Tegenkamp of Surrey, BC; and great-grandchild, Noah Tegenkamp of Calgary, AB.

 

Dennis is also survived by his sister Christine Hall-Himer of Edmonton, AB, sister-in-law Lucienne Tegenkamp of Calgary, AB, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Christina Tegenkamp; his three brothers, Helarieus, Clarence, and Kenneth; as well as his sister Winnifred.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Church (2223 34 St SW, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall at the Church.
