Condolences
I met Helmut curling at Lake Bonavista Curling League. He was a person that had time for you and I enjoyed our conversations.
There were many times Kim and I were out for our walks in Lake Bonavista and we would run into Helmut out walking enjoying the day. We would stop and engage in conversation. Or we would run into each other at our neighborhood pub Brewsters. Helmut’s positive attitude about everything was contagious and left you feeling uplifted.
Kim and I would like to pass on our condolences to Diane, his children and his grandchildren. We are sorry for your loss.
He will be missed.

Helmut was a great neighbor and never hesitated to lend a hand for any chore that needed to be done.
It is said, "how you do one thing is how you do everything." Those words could never be truer for Helmut. He was meticulous and did everything to the highest level. I marveled at how he 're-built' his treasured bungalow from the inside out. New wiring, insulation and drywall done to a red seal standard.
Vehicle maintenance was another marvel attributed to Helmut. I tried many times to convince him to replace his beloved Ford Ranger with a newer model. His ran like a top and there was no need to replace something that had been so meticulously maintained.
Helmut was humble yet immensely proud of his family and their accomplishments.
He will be missed as a neighbor as he helped make it a community.
Rest in Peace Neighbor
We knew Helmet as teenagers onward. He was an exceptional person, always pleasant, helpful and always had a little chuckle when sharing stories. One of Alex's most memorial holiday was spent with Helmet in Tasmania and the Australian outback, kayaking, bushwhacking, camping and driving through lightning and dust storms that they thought they wouldn't make it through. He was a wonderful friend and will be greatly missed.
