Obituary of David Ross Jefferies

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear brother, David Ross Jefferies, on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in his hometown of Calgary, AB, at the age of 65 years.  

David was born November 22, 1958, to the late Nora and Ross Jefferies, and was a proud Calgarian all his years, a graduate of Central Memorial High School.

He is survived by his sisters, Diane Rainey (George) and Janice Quinn (Sean); and his brother Paul Jefferies. David leaves behind four nieces, Kacie Rainey, Avianna, Joelle, and Marlo Quinn. He was predeceased by his nephew Jeffery Rainey. 

From his early years, David was a joyful soul, always quick to laugh and even quicker to roll up his sleeves and help. His faith and dedication were evident in his long-time membership at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, where he sang in the choir. Throughout his career, David served with unwavering loyalty and cheerfulness, bringing smiles to both customers and workmates alike. In recent years, David joined Lakeview United Church, where he found membership in a loving community and fellowship in song. David was a longtime member of the Calgary Multicultural Choir and more recently enjoyed the Music Makers Choir. David's loyalty, steadfastness, and incomparable laugh made a lasting impression on everyone he met. His spirit and song will surely be missed, but we take comfort in knowing he is now singing with the angels.

A Celebration of David's Life will be held at Lakeview United Church (3023 - 63rd Avenue SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. for family and friends. Reception to follow in the Church Hall.
