Obituary of Bea Walker
January 20, 1924 - Castor, Alberta
August 1, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta
It is with deep gratitude for a life well-lived that her family announces the passing of Beatrice Walker.
Her 'joie de vivre' will be missed by her friends in the art and music communities, as well as at the Manor. Well known for her endearing smile, witty humor, spiritual serenity, artist's eye, and immense kindness, she was thrilled to celebrate her 100th birthday with family and friends in January. Her spirit lives on in her many paintings she gladly shared and in her parting words of wisdom, "Whenever you think of me, that's me there with you."
A special thanks goes to the caregivers and staff at the Manor Village Huntington Hills.
Bea is beloved by her four children; Garry (Denise), Suzanne (Peter), Dean (Ora), Lianne (James) and her close friend, Greta Bylsma. She leaves behind cherished relationships with 25 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as with her many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas, of over 50 years and two grandchildren.
A Celebration of Bea's Life will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church (1009 – 15th Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB) on September 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Friends are invited to join our family at the interment at Queen's Park Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, website: www.heartandstroke.ca, or the Canadian Red Cross Society, website: www.redcross.ca, organizations Bea supported her entire life.
Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Beatrice’s family here.
