Paul Kazakoff, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the age of 78 years.
Paul Kazakoff was born on March 6, 1946, to Afanasy and Praskovia Kazakoff (“Buba and Jed”), at the UN Relief Stateless Working Camp in the American Zone in Germany. He came to Canada in 1950 with his family. Paul obtained a B.Ed., B.A. & Sc., and L.L.B. (1978) from the University of Alberta. He taught law and practised in civil litigation, accumulating approximately 90 reported cases in the Book of Law, which set legal precedents before retiring in 2020. He continued his love of language in the form of creative writing and successfully published eight novels within three years despite his illness.
Paul will be lovingly remembered by his “Fancy Nancy”, Mark, his son, Sheila, his sister, numerous friends, clients and his extended family.
The family is grateful for the incredible care he received from his medical professionals in the TBCC and the FMC especially the NU57 and ICU.
A Celebration of Paul’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
