Obituary of Wendy Anne Whittaker

September 20, 1957 – Toronto, Ontario

August 8, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Wendy Whittaker (nee Stevenson), on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at the age of 66 years.

Wendy was born in Toronto and later moved to Calgary where she spent her life as a loving wife, mother, sister, dedicated professional, and passionate individual. She is survived by her loving husband Terry, her son Chris, her grandchildren, Linden and Cassie; and siblings, Bonnie, Steve, Phil, Bob, and Bill; all of whom will forever cherish her memory.

Wendy had a long and successful career in the oil and gas industry, where her hard work and dedication earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life—especially camping, gardening, and spending time with her pets. She had a deep love for animals, and her home was always a welcoming place for her beloved companions.

Her creativity was boundless. Wendy’s love of crafts allowed her to express her artistic spirit in ways that brought joy to those around her. She had a particular fondness for the colour purple, which symbolized her vibrant personality, and dragonflies, which were her favourite insects, always evoking a sense of beauty and transformation in her life.

Wendy will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the positive energy she brought to every room she entered. She had an innate ability to connect with others and a heart full of generosity. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave and the memories she created.

Wendy’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of sharing their lives with her.
