Obituary of Linda Diane Bonnett

November 26, 1958 – Killam, Alberta

August 15, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Linda Diane Bonnett on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the age of 65 years. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and a great friend of many.

Linda was born in Killam, AB, and left home at the age of 17 to pursue a career in the banking industry. This eventually led her to Calgary where she met Paul, her soulmate, and they married in 1997. Their life together took them to many great places, however, their true happy place was their winter home in Palm Desert, California, where Linda continued to go after Paul’s passing. Linda loved to golf, quilt, spend time with family and friends, and especially loved the Edmonton Oilers! Linda accomplished much throughout her life, but she will always be remembered for her generosity and compassion towards others, whether it was providing baking, meals, or just being there for them.

Linda is survived by her mother Carolyn Bonnett, sister Cheryl (Brian) McTurk, nieces, Carla (Cory) Kokotailo and Shannon (Dirk) Foster; great-nieces, Paige and Ava Foster; sister-in-law Ilca Taylor, and niece Roxy Taylor.

She was predeceased by her husband Paul Taylor, father Norman Bonnett, in-laws, Ed and Sheila Taylor; and brother-in-law Brian Taylor.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Dawn Farrell, Kira Simons, Deb Robillard, and Michelle Rosenberg. We are deeply grateful for all your love and support over these last three months; we would have never gotten through without each one of you. To Linda’s golf group at Earl Grey Golf Club, thank you for the constant checking in and support. Lastly, thank you to the Southwood Hospice staff for their excellent care and compassion during this difficult time.

At Linda’s request, there will be no service held. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
