Obituary of Flavia Moretti

Flavia Moretti, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the age of 96 years.

Flavia was born in Vagli Sotto, Lucca, Italy, on April 13, 1928. In 1956, Flavia and her two children followed her husband to Canada, where they settled their family in Calgary.

Flavia was a strong-willed person, hard-working, and a homemaker. She loved to sew and was an excellent cook, producing many great meals for family and friends. She enjoyed taking walks in the neighbourhood of Bridgeland, where one day she interrupted an individual attempting to drag a girl into the bushes. She received a Citizenship Award from the Police Chief of Calgary for her efforts.

Flavia is survived by her son Francesco (Liliana), daughter Emilia, and grandchildren, Stefani, Michael, and Michael John. Flavia was predeceased by her loving husband of 70 years, Vincenzo.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6) on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre of the Funeral Home.
