Obituary of Darlene St. Gelais

September 6, 1947 – Port Burwell, Ontario

August 25, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Darlene St. Gelais, who passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on September 6, 1947, in Port Burwell, ON, to her beloved mother, Reta Dicks. Darlene St. Gelais was a cherished and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. 

She grew up in Port Burwell, ON, before moving to Tillsonburg, ON, where she met and married Pete St. Gelais. Together, they built a beautiful family and were blessed with three daughters, Michele Treske (Paul), Christine St. Gelais (Ron), and Kimberly St. Gelais (Scott). Darlene's family was her pride and joy. She adored her grandchildren, Tyler, Shaelyn, Jessica, Johnathon, and Abby; and was a loving great-grandmother to Benjamin, Ashton, Elly, and Luna. She will always be remembered for her kindness, charm, and joking personality. 

She is survived by her sisters, Donna and Deb; her brothers, Bob, Ivan, and Kevin. Darlene was predeceased by her mother Reta, her sisters, Marilyn, Linda, and Heather; and her brother Allan.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her. 

Celebration of Darlene's Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at Kim's residence (235 Templevale Rd NE, Calgary, AB).
