Obituary of Rose Martha Mooney

March 31, 1929 - Lake Lenore, Saskatchewan

September 5, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

Rose Martha Mooney (nee Bistritz), passed away peacefully at Dulcina Hospice in Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

She leaves behind to mourn her passing, daughter Carlene Neeve of Calgary, Alberta, son Blair Mooney (Laura) of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, grandchildren Matthew Neeve (Sarah) and their two daughters Taya and Kylie of Black Creek, British Columbia, Curtis Neeve (Jackie), and Christine Mooney (Sunjeev), all of Calgary, Alberta. Rose also leaves to mourn, her two sisters Irma Dobson and Nora Jones, her two brothers Albert (Bernice) Bistritz and Leonard (Barbara) Bistritz, as well as many nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her loving husband John Mooney in 2020, and her two brothers, Robert and Victor Bistritz.

The family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to the staff of The Edgemont retirement community where Rose resided for 2 ½ years. Thank you also to the staff on Unit 64 of the Foothills Hospital, and a big thank you to everyone at Dulcina Hospice for your genuine kindness to our Mom as well as us, her family.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Mooney’s service streamed live (see link below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of your choice.
