Obituary of Aaron Roy Fraser

July 5, 1979 - Calgary, Alberta

September 10, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

Aaron Roy Fraser, may you rest in peace. You belong to the hearts of our family and friends, a circle that is bound together by your love.

Aaron passed on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in Calgary, AB, after surviving a battle with glioblastoma for the past eight years.

Aaron had a pervasive impact as a leader in the Calgary Minor Hockey Association as a coach and in the professional world of supply chain logistics. Calgary Minor Hockey would not exist without volunteers like Aaron, who was always punctual, present at all practices and games, and focused on the fundamentals of being a strong leader. He was however first and foremost a proud father and family man. Everything was about family (and a few friends who were as close as family), he always kept an eye on what was really important to guide us. Mildly heated hockey debates were recommended only for those with time, knowledge, and verbal acumen.

Aaron would encourage us to have an excellent day, he always responded with, “As good as it gets”—to be grateful and joyful with the fortunes we carry. May we embody his positive attitude, loyalty, generosity, and commitment to our unwavering support of the Calgary Flames (and each other) in our daily routines.

Endeared as a father, husband, son, brother, friend, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandson, coach, colleague, and mentor; we are all heartbroken.

Aaron is fondly remembered by his loved ones: his nineteen-year-old daughter Ayden Fraser, sixteen-year-old son Dylan Fraser, and his loving wife of 28 years, Jeanette, his parents, Ronald William ‘Bill’ and Gail (nee Molohon) Fraser; brothers, Ryan (Raquel, Cassia, Lucas) and Todd (Naedean). He is also remembered by his dearest cousin-twin Mike Koo (Dec), Tom and Belinda (nee Foxon) Boleantu; along with Carolyn (Tim), Zoe and Teddy—making up the nuclear family that Aaron joined in 1996 when he met Jeanette. Forever in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Anglican Parish of Christ Church (3602 – 8th Street S.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at Anglican Parish of Christ Church (3602 – 8th Street S.W., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Interment will be held at the Highwood Cemetery (High River, AB) on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
