It is with great sadness and profound heartbreak that we announce the sudden passing of our daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, granddaughter, aunt, and friend, Christa Valencia Bigstoney (Mînîrhpa Wîya) on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the age of 45 years.

Christa attended Exshaw School, Morley School, and Canmore Collegiate. She had a passion for sports, such as baseball and volleyball, and recently discovered golf. Christa was known all around as the Homerun Queen. She enjoyed the outdoors, spending her time hunting and camping. As a young woman, Christa performed traditional dances. She loved travelling with family.

Christa was a kind-hearted woman. She was a very helpful person, always willing to lend a hand and making friends everywhere she went. Christa cherished her children and loved her family dearly.
