Daryl Brookwell of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the age of 59 years, with his family by his side.
He was born in Calgary, AB, on November 16, 1964. He grew up in De Winton, AB, riding horses, snowmobiles, and motorbikes. Daryl attended high school in Okotoks, AB, where he played football and rugby. After high school, he pursued his career as a licensed Automotive Technician.
Daryl enjoyed watching all sports, but had a passion for playing racquetball, inspiring his son Camron to also pursue the sport. Together they would attend racquetball competitions. He loved vacationing with his family. They would often go to the United States for the Fourth of July celebrations, and they also traveled to Mexico and the Dominican.
He will be most remembered for his love for his kids, his mischievous smile, his comedic sense of humor, and his love for practicing wrestling holds on members of his family.
Daryl is survived by his children, Ashley and Cameron Brookwell; loving parents, Neil and Lorraine Brookwell; sister Kim (Jeff) Leimer, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Mona Brookwell.
