Condolences
I have asked McInnis & Holloway to plant a tree from me in memory of Orlis. I met her when I was a school nurse at JP Vanier where Ron was teaching and we saw each other socially over many years. I was hoping to participate in the celebration o f her life through life streaming today and am disappointed that it was not possible to access. I hope that the service brings comfort to Ron and his family. Lynn Skillen
Dear Ron and Family,
Orlis and I were friends on the farm in Ebenezer Sask. We were in Sunday School together and went to school together at West Ebenezer. A little school of 13 of us from grade 1-9.
I drove the horse, his name was Silver and I had a 2 wheeled cart. I was the farthest so would drive to her place and pick her up.
Then I would drive to our cousin Bobby's place and pick him up. We shared Bobby as our cousin. His mother was sister to Orlis's mom and my father was brother to Bobby's father.
After we grew up I lived in B.C. and Orlis in Alberta, so we didn't see each other often. We always sent Christmas cards to each others family.
I will remember her fondly
Love, Sharon Peregoodoff
Condolences to Ron, Tara, and Jana. Orlis will be fondly remembered by those of us who taught with her at Aberhart. Her caring and artistic touch were seen in many places. After retirement, we were members of a small investment club for many years. And I have fond memories of sharing quilting ideas at a conference held at Jasper Park Lodge and also at one in Canmore.
