Obituary of Gary Donald Vallet
February 25, 1955 – Stettler, Alberta
September 17, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
Gary Vallet, of Airdrie, AB, passed away after a brief, courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the age of 69.
Gary was born in Stettler, AB, on February 25, 1955, to parents Donald and Joanne Vallet.
He was a loving husband to Lynda and a devoted father to his two stepsons, Todd (Tracey, Braden (Megan), and Jordan), Danny (Tara, Sydney, and Ryker), and son, Richard.
He was a loving grandfather, brother to Teresa (Danny), uncle to Nicole (Joe), Natasha (Cody), Scott (Gail), Carla, Mark (Stephanie), Kyle (Ceara), and Julianna, great-uncle to many, and brother-in-law to Nancy.
Gary was predeceased by his parents, brother Glen, brother-in-law Colin, mother and father-in-law Paul and Jean Rolseth, and nephew Trent.
In 2018, Gary retired from Fortis, where he had worked for over twenty years. His hobbies included watching his grandchildren play sports, cheering on the Vancouver Canucks hockey team, playing guitar, reading, and relaxing in his hot tub.
Gary will be remembered for his love for his family. He will be deeply missed.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to all those who touched Gary’s life.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway, Crowfoot (82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
