September 21, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
Lillian Willmon was a vibrant, fun-loving, strong woman who fully embraced life and spread joy to all those who knew her. Lil passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the age of 89.
Lil was born on September 3, 1935, in North Vancouver, BC, to parents Isabell and Clifford. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Gordon (Gord) Willmon, and her sister Gladys Jacobsen.
Lil was a devoted wife, mother, granny, and great-granny (GG), whose love and care touched every generation of her family. She will be deeply missed by her son Jim (Helena); her daughters, Cathy (Gunther) and Mary; her six grandchildren, Brad (Katie), Renee (Shobhit), Courtney (Kevin), Megan (Kerem), Danielle, and Emily (Adam); as well as her eight great-grandchildren, Jackson, Lexi, Logan, Brixton, Austin, Weston, Isabella, and Skylar.
Lil was a spirited soul who brought light and energy to every room she entered. She was the life of the party. She had an infectious enthusiasm for life and a gift for meaningful conversations. Lil’s passion for helping others was a cornerstone of her character, and she gave selflessly to those in need, touching countless lives with her compassion and generosity. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit of warmth, love, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Lil enjoyed golf, excelled at bridge, and above all, loved travelling. Her adventurous spirit was shared with her husband, and together they created lifelong memories exploring the world, often accompanied by friends and family. One of her most cherished trips was an unforgettable African safari they embarked on after Gord’s retirement—a journey that forever held a special place in her heart.
Lil and Gord thoroughly enjoyed spending their time amongst family and friends in Calgary, AB, Invermere, BC, and Tucson, AZ, where they formed many long-lasting friendships.
