Obituary of Beverley Frances Hill

February 25, 1950 - Brantford, Ontario

September 22, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

 

Beverly “Bev” Hill, beloved wife of Wayne Hill, of Cochrane, Alberta, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the age of 74 years.

 

Bev was born in Brantford, ON, on February 25, 1950, and later graduated from Hamilton Teacher's College with an Ontario Teachers’ Certification. She was a member of Women Alive and the Alliance Women's Association, as well as being involved in various singing groups and serving as a Sunday School teacher.

 

Bev will always be remembered for her passion for family gatherings and cooking delicious food for every occasion. She cherished her time spent with loved ones, especially during her vacation to Liverpool in 2017. Her legacy of love, her contagious smile, and her infectious laughter will be greatly missed.

 

Bev is survived by her husband Wayne Hill, son Blue Johnson, daughters, Alicia Hill (Sean) of Diamond City, AB, Cheryle Labelle of Morley, AB, Tiesha Dunning (Ryan), of Liverpool, UK, and Samantha Machiskinic of Regina, SK. Bev is also survived by her grandchildren: Cayley Slaughter (Kole), Kody Williamson, Kristen Monture, Shayannah Labelle (Tucker),  Alexander Labelle (Astokomii), Nicholas Labelle, Johnny Labelle, Tatiana Labelle, Emmora Labelle, Nevaeh Thomas, Matthew Seamon, Mark Thomas, Nina Papaqash, Lynn Thomas, Lance Dustyhorn, Garrett Dustyhorn, Danielle Dustyhorn, Tyler Dustyhorn, Lynnette Dustyhorn, Angeline Thomas, and Leland Thomas; her great-grandchildren, Dahlia King and Raiden Rabbit; her brothers, Arthur Jr. (Sandra) Wright, Jay Wright (Candy), and David Wright, all of Six Nations, ON; and her sisters,  Carol Birnie and Michelle Hill (Greg) of Collingwood, ON, Bonnie Hill (Tim) and Darlene Lickers (Don) of Six Nations, ON, Donna Hemington (Andrew), Hailsham, East Sussex, Dayna Ferguson of Vernon, BC, and Terri Rossen (Bruce) Calgary, AB.

 

Bev was predeceased by her daughter Tina Dustyhorn, her parents, Ethel and Arthur Wright; her grandparents, Melchie and Hilda Henry, and Albert and Hannah Wright; her brother Michael Wright, and her brothers-in-law, Bill Birnie, Mike Ferguson, and Karl Wobschall.

 

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Unit 46 at Foothills Medical Centre who ensured that her last days were comfortable. Providing her with all the heated blankets her heart desired, Dr. Tomanek for being possibly the only doctor left making house calls, Cochrane Alliance Church family, and Lakeview Baptist Church family.

 

Rest in peace, Bev. You will always be remembered with love and cherished in our hearts.

Funeral Services will be held at Cochrane Alliance Church (902 Glenbow Dr, Cochrane, AB), on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. Following the service there will be an open house at the home of Bev and Wayne Hill from 4:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
