Condolences
Thinking of you all today and sending condolences. Thinking of Dave always brings a smile to my face from the day I met him at Priddis Greens almost 40 years ago. We had so much fun and laughter was always close at hand. You epitomise the old saying live hard play hard and I fell lucky to have known you. Rest easy my friend.
Heather (Robertson) McPhie
I met Dave in grade 9 at the age of 15. It was a true friendship from the beginning. Hung out together along with Mark Paddison Rick Street. That friendship has been 57 years.
We went to College room together with Mark 74-75 it's a year I can never forget. So many stories that could be told.Good ones and some not so good.
I will miss my true friend who I loved like he was my brother. I am so pleased that talked to Dave just prior to his sudden passing. I was able to tell him that I loved him and he told me the same. I will miss Dave dearly and he will never leave my heart. My heart goes out to Shannon Parker Abby Paul and Mary.I am sorry that I am unable to attend due to my work.commitments in Dallas Texas. I will be with you all this day.
John Falcon as Dave would say to me Cone your a piece of work. Rest in peace I will see you again one day.
Our sincere heartfelt condolences to Shannon, Abigail & Parker. The Hunter family had the rare opportunity and the privilege to share Dave’s legacy of “Work Hard and Play Hard” firsthand with him. Thanks to a mutual friend, Don McIvor, Dave & I met at Don’s annual golf tournament in Whitefish in the early 1980’s. Dave had a huge heart and was very generous to his friends.
Three generations of The Home Hunters had the distinct pleasure of working with Dave. We sold Dave my brother-in-law’s acreage in 1986 which was soon to be known as the “Engeland Ramada”. He treated my Dad Bill, my son Steve and me with respect and that respect was mutual. Over the past 45 years, we helped Dave buy, sell and trade over 30 properties of all types (even a movie theatre), from Calgary to Arizona. Dave was a no nonsense, do it my way type of businessman, but he was a man of his word, honest and respectful.
We also shared a genuine love of our families. In hundreds of our conversations over the years, Dave and I always included sharing stories about our families. One of the last conversations I had with Dave was just a couple of months ago. He was getting his real estate affairs in order. He said out of the blue “our days are numbered Grant” and we both agreed that we have had a great run together, working hard and playing hard! I will truly miss Dave and will be forever thankful for our lifelong friendship!!
Sincerely, Grant Hunter and The Hunter Family
I was deeply sadden to hear about the passing of my old boss and friend . I’ve know Dave for over 30 years w enjoyed a light banter between us at work and we would often partner up and work units together , we mostly did outbound together he took a lot of pride in his work . Shannon Parker and Abby know that you three were his world he was so very proud of all you. I regret deeply that we never stayed in better contact after I retired . Rest easy my friend until we see each other again I will think of you often.

Remember David from high school. Always seemed to be laughing and having fun. Good guy. So sorry to hear of his passing.
So sorry to hear this news. Dave was a wonderful friend all through high school and in our early days in Marchmont. We bought our first house ….it was in Marchmont and was next door to Dave, Paul and mom Elaine. Dave and Paul were ushers in our wedding….1973.
We had the best of times as friends and neighbours……parties, corn roasts, skiing, football, dirt bikes, dune buggies, bonfires, Sunday dinners….endless good times!
Dave, you will be missed.
“May your light shine bright and your spirit travel far”.
Shine on Dave.
Love you.

David (Dave) and Family, Iam so incredibly sorry that you wonderful soul has left this earth! You brought laughter and love to everyone you knew! Growing up as a young girl and your Mom, you & Paul would be at the house for dinners and just hanging out! Your Mom was good friends with Dad and Mom (Nancy & Andy Kent) and we always had little get together. Then High school silliness, parties , football games , big back yard party at the house! Just wonderful memories. We all took different paths in our lives and it sounds like you had the most wonderful life full of love and laughter! I am so very sorry to hear of your passing and I give my most heartfelt condolences to you Shannon , Parker & Abby . My heart breaks for your loss Melody(Kent) Lillicrap
Our sincere and deepest condolences go out to our great friend Shannon, as well as dear Parker and Abby.
We have been so blessed to have been fortunate enough to have had Dave in our lives. He welcomed us and treated us as family, and was the one solid brick that never wavered. His unmatched kindness and generosity was second to none, we will dearly miss his big bear hugs, his endearing smile, and infectious laugh.
Our hearts are broken, the world has lost a great man, and a great friend. Rest peacefully Dave, we’ll take it from here.
Forever and with lots of Love, Brian and Shelley Weston.
