Obituary of Peter Clifford Morgan

May 26, 1935 - London, England

October 1, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

Peter Morgan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 1, 2024, at the age of 89 years.

Born in London, England, Peter attended Birmingham University where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1959, he met and married his wife, Jackie.  They proceeded to spend the next several years working overseas, developing a love for travel and adventure, before settling in Calgary to raise their family.

Peter had a long career in the energy industry, starting several successful engineering firms while also making time to volunteer with numerous different organizations, including Vecova (VRRI), 92nd Scout Group, and AARCS. His sense of integrity, honesty, and genuine interest in people was evident to anyone he met and allowed him to have a positive impact on the community.

Upon retiring, Peter fulfilled his dream of sailing, spending several winters on his boat and visiting numerous countries and islands throughout the Caribbean. He also loved walking his beloved dog Sadie, skiing and hiking in the Rockies, travelling the world, and most importantly, spending time with his extended family.

Beloved husband of Jackie, Peter will be deeply missed by his sons, David (Terri) and Richard (Melanie); as well as his grandchildren, Tera and Aidan; and great-granddaughter Taryn.

A Celebration of Peter’s Life will be held at a later date, with details to follow.

If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to A.A.R.C.S. – Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society at www.aarcs.ca/donate.
