Obituary of Andy Brown

May 6, 1954 – Claresholm, Alberta

September 26, 2024 – Okotoks, Alberta

Richard “Andy” Brown, beloved husband of Janice Brown (nee Astall), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the age of 70 years.

Andy was born in Claresholm, AB, on May 6, 1954. He moved to Calgary in 1970 and graduated from St. Francis High School. Later, Andy married Janice in 2012.

He accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of the years he spent helping his many real estate clients find their perfect home.

Andy loved to go to Mazatlán, Mexico, where he spent many happy days golfing with his wife Janice, and his friends. He also enjoyed cooking up fantastic gourmet meals for family and friends. He spent his early morning hours walking the beach with his beloved Julio.

He spent this past summer traveling through the US and Canada, visiting with many of his close friends. Andy particularly enjoyed his visit with his aunt and uncle, Maureen and Jack Dunn, cousin David Dunn, aunt Peggy Hartman Trewin, and Ed Trewin. Both Andy and Jan were very grateful to his cousin Wayne Brown for giving them the use of his beautiful villa in Okotoks during their visits home. Jan and Andy also came home to help his sister Faye complete the renovation of her home. Andy and Jan were very grateful to have the opportunity to visit with their grandchildren, Jackson Houwer, Sarah Houwer, Hunter Shaw, and Brooke Shaw.

He will be sadly missed by all of us.

The family will gather for a private Celebration of Andy’s Life at a later date.
