September 27, 2024 - Aldersyde, Alberta
Harold Graham, beloved husband of Elaine Graham (nee Hancher), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the age of 80 years.
He was born in Lampman, SK, on September 6, 1944, and moved to Bowness in Calgary, AB, in 1969. He met and married Nancy Graham (nee MacDonald), who predeceased him in 1996.
Harold worked in construction for most of his career, including his own business, HarNan Construction. He later moved to maintenance for Woods Homes and finished off his career driving school bus. He always kept himself busy with his side businesses, Mr Dunk Tank and Happy Harold's Hot Tub rentals.
He was involved in the Bowness Ratepayers Scout and Guide Association, where he was a Scout Leader and became a member of the Bowness Lions Club. He dedicated countless hours to serving the community.
He was the driving force behind the Bowness Stampede Parade and Pancake Breakfast, which has been an annual event for the past 33 years. He also organized Christmas tree sales in support of the Hall. Harold maintained the Scout Hall for years and was instrumental in having the new hall constructed.
Harold retired but never slowed down; he was always "putzing around" restoring old farm tractors, tending to the garden, and volunteering with the Lions.
Harold is survived by his loving wife Elaine, and his dog "Bear". He is also survived by his sons, Shawn (Cindy) and Sheldon (Kathy); stepdaughters, Shelley (Dave) and Sharon (Gord); grandchildren, Samantha (Ryan), Mackenzie (Don), Colby, Taylor, Ethan, Dallas, Judd, Gabrielle (Ian), Izack, and Josie; and great-grandchildren, Carmen, Madison, Gracie, Wyatt, Sidney, Eden, and Elijah; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Chris; sisters, Nadine Graham and Saundra (Moe) Corkish; and his niece Shelley Corkish.
