Condolences
I worked with Peter when he was just starting out his business, some from my home and in his new offices, about 10 years and it grew quickly. Peter was a great employer to work for and a good friend. I learned so much about business from Peter. He will be missed in his field. A Great Man! Our condolences go out to Mia and the whole family.
Sincerely,
Rae Ann and Brent O'Shea
Peter became my adopted father when I moved to Calgary. I’ll always cherish the hours we spent talking after dinner. Special in my mind are the hikes we made into Kananaskis. We reminisced one of his favorites, King’s Creek, in 2017. RIP Pete. Love Jim
The moments that I remember most were getting together for Mia's wonderful dinners...she and I bringing dishes to the table and Erhard and Peter engrossed in a game of chess. Peter was an amazing chess player...strategic and able to plan ahead, as well as anticipating and visualizing Erhard's moves. They both enjoyed the complexity of the game itself , regardless of who was the winner.
Erhard and I both loved sitting around the table, listening to Peter tell stories of hikes in Kananaskis they had done as a family, and of his time in Australia as a young boy.
Peter Salmon was many things to me. The first grownup I was to call by their first name at my first “real” job. A person that was authority, teacher and my first real mentor. And I know I drove him bonkers sometimes but I also made him laugh - I will always cherish his appreciation of me. Peter was instrumental in my transition to adulthood and I am so grateful to have had his influence in my early adult life. I was able to visit him before he passed and his final gift was to remember me and tell me “I love you too”. My deep condolences to the Salmon family that welcomed me so many years ago and will always be near to my heart - Maaike.
