Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Kurucz

October 2, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
Margaret Elizabeth Kurucz (nee Timko), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday October 2, 2024, at the age of 91 years.
Margaret was born in Tilley, AB, on May 6, 1933. She lived on a farm near Tilley and was one of seven children. She moved to Calgary, AB, in her late teens. There she met her husband, Frank Kurucz. Margaret married Frank in 1953, and they raised three children together.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Mary Timko; her brothers, John, George, and Joe; her sister Annie, and her loving husband Frank.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Frank (Valerie), Susan (Norman), and Michael (Kimberly). She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Lindsay (Konstantin), Jeffrey (Michelle), Jeremy (Marissa), Connor, and Toni; and five great-grandchildren, Kenton, Alina, Kayson, Travis, and Zoe. She will also be missed by her sister Mary, her brother Martin (Joyce), and her entire extended family.
Margaret's family and friends were her life's greatest joy and came before anything else. She had an easy smile and an infectious laugh and loved spending her days knitting, playing bingo, bowling, and socializing at the Ukrainian Seniors Club.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery (3219 – 4th Street NW, Calgary, AB).
