Obituary of Kelvin Grant Faas

June 25, 1963 – Calgary, Alberta

October 2, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Kelvin “Kelly” Faas, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the age of 61 years.

Kelvin Grant Faas was born on June 25, 1963. His parents, Mary and Bill Faas, were surprised but very happy to find out they were having another baby and a son! This was fifteen years after their first daughter Sherry and five years after their second daughter Bev! Kelly grew up in Calgary in the community of Brentwood. He was an active boy, much different than his two sisters! He kept Mom and Dad busy for sure.

Kelly loved his family above all, and Bev's childhood friends remember him hanging out with them A LOT!! As a boy, Kelly took karate and drum lessons. He loved listening to music, and some of his favourites were George Thorogood and Led Zeppelin.

Three lovely girls came in and out of Kelly's life; Brenda, Sue, and Rose all brought happiness to Kelly, and we are thankful for them. He enjoyed sports including the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Raptors, but no other team could beat the Calgary Flames!! He was a diehard fan. Kelly loved going for lunch with his big sister Sherry. They had lunch downtown every Wednesday. Boy, he missed her when she passed away three years ago.

Kelly worked mostly as a warehouse shipper and receiver, unfortunately at the expense of his back. He liked most of his jobs and was a good employee. Kelly found another very good friend and spent the last few years with his dog Bentley. Bentley was at the Humane Society and as soon as Kelly saw him, he knew that he was the dog for him. Those two loved each other dearly. And I must say thank you again to Lannah, a dear friend of Kelly’s, for taking Bentley into her home!

Rest in peace, little brother—until we meet again.
