Obituary of Timothy Fernald Armstrong

Timothy (Tim) Armstrong of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the age of 73 years.

 

Tim was born in Mayerthorpe, AB, on August 12, 1951, and grew up in the town of Blue Ridge, AB. He moved to St. Albert, AB, in 1973, and spent his life working as a framer and carpenter. He lived and worked in Edmonton, AB, Calgary, AB, and Ontario, before settling in Calgary.

 

Tim loved his dogs, and they were often seen on the job site with him. He was a loyal and passionate Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Eskimos fan. He also loved his rock and roll music. Some of his favourites were Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Guess Who.  In his younger years, he loved to dance and was particularly smooth doing the jive with the ladies.

 

Tim loved to read; Robert Ludlum was one of his favorites.  He was always up on the latest politics and current events, and loved to debate with anyone who he could engage. Tim had a good heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand when he could.

 

Tim is survived by his two sons, Jeff and Tyson; daughter Rae-Lea, stepson Morris, stepdaughter Tabaitha, and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his three sisters and one brother-in-law, Jane Bjelland, of Bellingham, WA, Maureen and Phil Bara, of Calgary, AB, Shannon Armstrong, of Calgary, AB, one brother Kelly Armstrong, of Calgary, AB, and sister-in-law Fern Walker, of Wetaskiwin, AB, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Tim was predeceased by his father Fernald, mother Evelyn, sister Cheryl, and her husband Dean, brother Brad (Fern), and brother-in-law Rick (Jane).
