Obituary of Mary Violet Mendes

October 9, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
Violet Mendes, beloved wife of Neves Mendes, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at the age of 64 years.
Violet’s courageous journey began in January 2022, when she was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Though we never knew how much time we had, we cherished every moment, believing we had all the time in the world.
Even in her final days, Violet's strength and resilience shone through. Admitted to the ER on Saturday, October 5, she gifted us three precious extra days. Her unwavering spirit will forever inspire us. We will always remember her love, laughter, and legacy. The family wishes to thank you for your love, kind words, support, and condolences.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (Corner of Northmount Drive & Northland Drive N.W., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens (Lower Springbank Road & 17th Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB).
Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Violet’s service streamed live (see link below) on the day of the service.
