Casey Jr. Micah Caleb Three Suns passed away peacefully surrounded by his parents and siblings on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at his childhood home on the Siksika Nation at the age of 32 years.

Casey Jr. fought with so much courage, strength, and determination, he did not suffer towards the end. He is now at peace in Heaven, rejoicing with the family that has gone on before us.

Casey Jr. entered this world on September 29, 1992, to his loving parents, Casey Sr. and Marion Three Suns, the bald baby with coloured eyes who became the apple of their eye.  He was the planned baby, according to our parents. He went by the nicknames, Lobster, Lobby, and Lobba. Although he was the third of the four children, he was considered the baby of the family.

Casey enjoyed all sorts of sports growing up. Hockey and rodeo became the two that he was most interested in. He played for the Siksika Minor Hockey Association and attended Native Provincials and Alberta Treaty Games. With rodeo, he would enter in the surrounding reserves and towns.

As he got older, Casey’s fascination with WWE and UFC became known, as well as boxing. His favourite fighters were Tito Ortiz, Jorge Masvidal, The Diaz Brothers, The Benavidez Brothers, Cain Velasquez, and Canelo Alvarez, to name a few. In April 2024, he got to meet Georges St-Pierre.

Casey would watch his favourite shows, and he was known for his attention to detail in the movies and the shows. He noticed the flaws or bloopers that we wouldn't be able to catch, and he would replay that part to show us. He was very OCD in the way that he cleaned and took care of himself. We knew when he would clean the house as everything would be spic and span, and he would remind us to not make a mess. When he would get dressed, it had to be specific pieces of clothing. He had his own style-unique, like him.

Casey grew up on the west side of Siksika, so when he received his home in Cluny, he was super grateful and made his way east for six years. He took good care of and put pride in his home. He also worked as a security guard for over ten years with Siksika Health Services.

Casey loved all things family, and celebrating his birthday was very special and important for him. This last birthday we celebrated with him, although we did not think it would be his last, was a very beautiful celebration. We will forever cherish that day. He always looked forward to family celebrations such as dinners, birthdays, and camp meetings.

Casey loved attending powwows, rodeos, camping and hunting with his in-laws, to name a few. Casey enjoyed his daily munchie drives, scenic tours to the mountains or just being out on the road with his dad. He loved sharing his stories and music with each of us. His favourite foods to eat were pizza, KFC, hamburgers, Caesar salad, turkey dinners with all the trimmings, banana cream pie, and mint tea that his aunty Glenda would gladly bring him. His favourite sports teams he cheered for were the Buffalo Bills, San Jose Sharks, Dallas Cowboys, and the Calgary Flames.

Casey also enjoyed attending church and reading the Bible with mom. When mom would almost miss a day with their Bible Study, he would say, “Come on Mom, we can’t be lazy. Let’s read the Bible”. He made the Strathmore Full Gospel Church his home church where he fellowshipped, and we want to say thank you to the SFG Church for helping our family during this difficult time.

Casey is going to be missed by many family members and friends. We want to thank everyone for their prayers and condolences sent our way. He had a heart of compassion for everyone who crossed his path. Casey lived a very beautiful life. Casey was a proud Blackfoot Warrior to the end.

He is survived by his loving parents, Casey Sr. and Marion Three Suns; sisters Tracy and Tannis (Henry); and brothers, Sheridan, and John Jr.; His only son, whom he loved with his whole heart, Kenyon, and the mother of his child, Marcy, nieces and nephews, Luke, Lake, Chevy, Nova, Roziz, and Khyrie; whom he loved and protected. He is also survived by his paternal aunts and uncle, Wesley Three Suns, Donna (Lloyd), Fay-Ann Three Suns, and Sarah Three Suns; maternal uncles, Martin (Crystal) Curly Rider Jr., and Wilton, Reynold and Joshua (Lenni) Curly Rider; grandmother, Judy Curly Rider, his adopted brothers, Tyson Fast, and Pat Bear Hat Jr., and his traditional aunt Dorothy Jefferson from Crow Agency, MT.

He will also be deeply missed by his son’s side of the family in Morley. We apologize for any names we may have missed as our family is huge here in Siksika, as well as in Kainai, and Casey had many friends from all walks of life.

He is rejoicing with our family that has gone on before us. He is happily holding his late nephew DeRozen whom he missed so much, and is happy to be in the presence of our late grandpa Martin Curly Rider Sr.

His favourite word when anyone would leave would be, “Kiitimatsin”, so Kiitimatsin Casey, until we meet again. Thank you to his doctors who took exceptional care of him during his time at the Tom Baker Centre; Dr. Chaudry, Dr. Hayes, Dr. Street, his family doctor, Dr. Fanning, and nurses Tabby, and Lenay.
