Obituary of Ernesto Ramirez Sr. Sayaman

March 4, 1943 – Imus, Cavite, Philippines

October 12, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

On Saturday, October 12, 2024, Ernesto ‘Estoy’ Ramirez Sayaman passed away at the age of 81 years.

Estoy, beloved husband of Ermelita Sayaman, passed away peacefully at his residence in Calgary, AB.

Born on March 4, 1943, in Imus, Cavite, Philippines, Estoy spent his younger years in the Philippines before immigrating to Canada in 1993. He graduated from Imus National High School and was a proud member of the local community.

In his free time, Estoy enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, and watching sports, particularly boxing, baseball, and tennis. He also had a passion for travelling and had unforgettable vacations in New York, Australia, the Philippines and Disneyland with his grandchildren.

One of his greatest achievements was his ability to take care of his grandchildren and family. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Estoy is survived by his wife Ermelita, sons, Dennis and Ernesto Jr.; daughter Doris, brothers, Pablito, Francisco, Cesar, and Rick; sisters, Lucinda, Norie, and Elsa; as well as three grandchildren, Sarah, Samuel, and Aiden.

He was predeceased by his parents, Alfonso and Faustina; brother Virgilio, and sister Luzviminda.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all family and friends who sent their condolences during this difficult time. Special thanks to the healthcare workers at the Chinook Care Centre for their compassionate care.

Estoy will be most remembered for his dedication to his family and his wry sense of humour which always brought a smile and laughter to those around him.
