Obituary of Allen Gerald Lawrence

July 3, 1937 – Radway, Alberta

October 13, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Allen Lawrence, beloved husband of Gloria Lawrence, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the age of 87 years.

Born to Lisle and Gladys, Al cherished his siblings, Wayne, Ross, Garth, Ella-Mae and Brenda. As a child, Al enjoyed playing all sports, especially baseball. He was a very talented carpenter, and this passion for woodworking continued as he crafted many gifts from his shop throughout his life. In his professional life, Al worked in Crowsnest Pass and attended SAIT Technical College before beginning a decades-long career with Mobil Oil, first in Edmonton and then in Calgary.

Al was a loving husband to Gloria and a devoted father to his daughters, Tami and Shelley. He found tremendous joy as a grandfather and great-grandfather, cheering on his grandchildren in their sporting endeavours of hockey and soccer. An avid Calgary Flames fan, Al was committed to watching every game he could and followed the team's progress with great dedication.

He loved fishing and boating and being near water such as Baptiste Lake and Okanagan Lake, where he spent many holidays with family.

Al will be remembered as a wonderful brother, uncle, friend, father, grandfather, great grandfather and husband.

There will be no funeral as per Al's wishes.
