Obituary of Kenneth Ellis Jones

January 26, 1941 - Kincaid, Saskatchewan

October 11, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth (Jimmy) Ellis Jones, a devoted husband, dad, papa, and great-papa, who passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the age of 83 years. A silent and strong man, Ken lived a life of quiet dignity, always providing for and protecting those he loved.

Born on January 26, 1941, in Kincaid, SK, Ken proudly served his country when joining the Canadian Armed Forces and served for 20 years. His military service instilled in him a strong work ethic, honour, and duty, which he carried with him throughout his life. After his time in the military, Ken continued his service with the Canada Post Office for the next 20 years. He was a steady presence in the lives of those he served, known for his dependability and integrity until his retirement.

Ken was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes. He found his greatest joy in his family. As a loving husband to Jean, he was a steadfast partner and the foundation of their home. As a dad to Kenny (Sheila), Launa and Doug, he was a solid fun-loving guy who always had a quick wit response, always there with quiet support and unshakeable strength. His role as “Papa” and “Great-Papa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was one he cherished deeply, and his legacy of love and care will live on through them.

In his quiet moments, Ken enjoyed sitting on the deck with a coffee and a smoke or watching true crime on HLN or NCIS but his greatest fulfillment came from being with his family, whether it was sharing a meal, offering a helping hand, or simply being present in their lives. His silent strength provided comfort and stability to all who knew him.

Though Ken may be gone, his quiet strength and deep love will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Hon, Dad, Papa and Great Papa. You will be missed beyond words.
