Obituary of Victor Grant Robertson Vickers

Victor “Vic” Grant Robertson Vickers, born in Montreal, QC, on June 26, 1948, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in Calgary, AB, at the age of 76 years.
Vic served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps, an experience that shaped his life with values of loyalty, discipline, and resilience. He carried those values forward, remaining a strong supporter of the military. Vic worked for over 40 years in the floor-covering industry here in Alberta and across the country. This allowed him to use his humour and wit to make numerous friends and enjoy a very rewarding and successful career.
His true passions in life came from simple pleasures, sitting on his front deck with a cigar and a Guinness in hand, reminiscing about old music, and telling stories of his youth and the remarkable people he encountered along the way. Vic loved the outdoors, especially sporting clays, bird hunting, fishing, and the company of his loyal dogs, who were his constant companions.
Vic is survived by his loving wife Susan, son Ryan (Amy) Vickers and their daughters, Ella and Avery; daughter Meighan Vickers, brother Duncan Vickers, sisters, Susan Black, Marcella (Barry) Brown-Vickers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered by family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of sharing a story or a laugh with him.
A Celebration of Vic’s Life will be held at The Lake House (747 Lake Bonavista Dr SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
