Mr and Mrs Wynne took me into their home at a very impactful time in my life. They shared their life and experiences with me, and I am forever grateful. While Mrs Wynne made sure every morning and evening I had enough food to feed an entire football team, Mr and I had many laughs and conversations about all things life. Mr shared so many stories of the game of hockey, life growing up, and the people that touched his life. His pride and enjoy was always Mrs's and the kids, and that is something that I have taken with me into my life. FAMILY. A simple memory, but a great one, was how we would grab our Biederlack blankets to fend off the cold Calgary winter while we watched a game and of course ate more food.
Love and prayers to Mrs and the entire family, and thank you Fred for giving a big piece of you when a young man needed some guidance.
We were deeply saddened to hear of Fred's passing. Unfortunately it has been many years since we have been in touch. Have fond memories of our years coaching minor baseball in the 70's. Particularily the all-star team that Fred asked me to coach with him. Also recall many enjoyable evenings together over pizza.
Carol and family please accept our deepest condolences.

Sending condolences to your family . I have memories of Fred from many years ago and often went with my dad to visit his sisters
It’s been many years but I remember the close friendship
my dad ( Dick Atchison ) had with Fred and how much he meant to him
I hope they are all enjoying each others company now ❤️
Rose and I want to extend our condolences. I haven’t seen Fred since the days of the Stratford Culliton’s. All the best to reminiscing the memories of Fred’s life. A special hello to John “Duke”, all the best to you and your family. Ross Yantzi.
Thoughts are with the family. Fred and I had many a great discussion in our days involved with 2 different team in the AJHL. WE did however agree on the scholarship program the the Friends of Alberta Junior Hockey Society had. We were both strong believers in the kids get an education beyond hockey, and we encouraged them to continue into post-secondary systems, either here in Canada, or in the USA. Rest in peace my friend.
Mr. Wynne was the best hockey coach I ever had. In 1982, I was a scrawny ten year old kid that just moved to Calgary from Edmonton and after I won a couple of ribbons in a school track meet he said "if that kid can skate as fast as he can run..." and the rest is history.
Many evenings were spent at the Wynne's or at our place regaling in stories and I will miss his amazingly boisterous laugh! Mr. Wynne was a larger-than-life figure in my childhood and for countless kids that had the honor of playing on the Braeside Hawks or SW Royals!
RIP
