Obituary of Glee Alberta Obersteiner

Glee Obersteiner (nee Sellens), beloved wife of the late Peter Paul Obersteiner, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the age of 82 years.

Glee was born in Medicine Hat, AB, on April 27, 1942. She graduated from Western Canada High School in Calgary in 1960 and later continued her education at the University of Calgary while she was working. She then married Peter Obersteiner in 1963. In 2009, Glee retired from her work in the Collections Department at City Hall in Calgary, after being with the city for 34 years.

Glee accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of her children, April and Bryce, and their achievements. She enjoyed golfing and travelling, visiting Australia, Mexico, the Cook Islands, and Hawaii many times.

Glee will be most remembered for her integrity, love for family and friends, and fondness for animals.

Glee is survived by her sister, Sandra Sellins, her niece and nephew, Sari and Brian Saunders; and Sari’s children, Alec and Abigail; and son-in-law David Welsh. She was predeceased by her son Bryce, her husband Peter, and her daughter April.
