Obituary of Douglas Brian Smith

Douglas Brian Smith of Calgary, AB, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the age of 79 years. Douglas was born in Edmonton, AB, on February 5, 1945, and married Judy Smith in 1966.
He is survived by his two sons, his eldest Collin Smith and daughter-in-law Simi of Calgary, second son Frazer Smith and daughter-in-law Suzanne of Sherwood Park, and his grandson Aidan Smith of Calgary. He is survived by his mother Ethel Jamieson, siblings, Barrie Smith, Janet Smith, and Wayne Smith, and many nieces and nephews.
Doug's immediate family would like to express their gratitude for the tremendous support received in the last stages of his life from family, friends, and the staff of Chinook Care Center in Calgary.
Doug spent most of his life raising his family in the Edmonton area before relocating to Calgary to spend time with his grandson Aidan. He enjoyed his time with family at events with activities such as playing cribbage, parties, barbeques, and camping. Doug enjoyed his career as an instrument technologist in the oil and gas sector.
He has been cremated and a private memorial service will be arranged at a later date.
