She lived a life rich with love, adventure, and dedication, and her legacy will continue through the countless individuals she inspired. She was a beloved mother, sister, and friend to many.
Jean graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with a major in psychology from the University of Guelph in 1981. Jean and Alan married in 1986 and later moved to Calgary in 1994. She eventually became a volunteer for CHADD Calgary, where she worked to support families dealing with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. She found her passion as an Academic Learning Strategist at the University of Calgary in 2011, and later at Mount Royal University in 2018, until she retired in 2021 due to ALS. She found immense fulfillment in her work, helping students unlock their potential and pursue their educational goals. Her commitment to education and learning was profound and impactful, affecting the lives of many students during her tenure.
Jean's passions extended beyond her professional life. She enjoyed hiking with friends, relishing in the beauty of nature, and traveling, as she delighted in discovering new places, cultures, and creating memories along the way. She also cherished the memories of her family vacations.
