Condolences
Bruce was the first uncle I ever met. When I was three, he travelled to Toronto to look for work. He worked for a time at Reynold's Insurance, my maternal grandfather's company, but didn't love it, so he decided to return to Alberta. My father and I drove him to the train station whereupon my father handed me to Bruce and asked him to take me with him to meet my grandparents in Berwyn. I had no extra clothes, so my dad wired ahead to the next Eaton's store on the way and Eaton's met Bruce at the train station with a package of clothing for a three-year-old. To say that Bruce was unaccustomed to managing a three-year-old would be an understatement, but he persevered. Many years later, he told me that a couple of nice ladies on the train helped A LOT. It was a memorable trip for both of us.
He was always very kind to me and gave me good advice on several occasions with personal problems. I will always remember his chuckle. He was a good man. Condolences to Anne, Kathy, Blair, Kat and Michelle.
