Obituary of Geraldine Agnes Snodgrass

January 21, 1927 – St. John, New Brunswick

November 12, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Geraldine Agnes Snodgrass (nee Joyce) of Calgary, AB, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the age of 97 years.

Gerry was born to William and Ellen Joyce in St. John West, New Brunswick, on January 21, 1927. Gerry was the second of four sisters: Theresa, Joan, and Rose Marie, all of whom predeceased her in recent years.

Gerry was a stenographer when she met Gordon Leroy Snodgrass, a teacher, in St. John. They married on October 9, 1954.

Once Gordon joined the Armed Forces, they moved to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC. They also lived in Toronto, Barrie, Borden, and Walkerton, ON, before moving to Calgary, AB, in 1992. Gordon passed away in 1998.

Gerry lived at Lake Bonavista Village Retirement Community for several years. As an avid reader, she likely read and shared every Danielle Steel novel ever written. Gerry was also a lifelong sports enthusiast. She admired the legendary Bobby Hull -  and continued to enjoy watching the Chicago Blackhawks. She also made a point of watching Notre Dame College Football and was a fan of Tom Brady.

Gerry is survived by her children, Tomas (Dawn), William (Deborah), James (Joanie), Gordon (Daniele), and Paul (Jacqueline); her ten grandchildren, Sarah, Mary, Kyle, Chantal, Kelsey, Emmaline, Ryan, Shelbi, Rayven, and Brooklynn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside and Prayer Services will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens (24223 Township Rd 242, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
