Celia ‘Tillie’ Sklar, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the age of 94 years.

With her daughters at her side, we announce the passing of our beloved mother Tillie. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Jack B. Sklar.

Loving and cherished mother and mother-in-law of Francine and Alan, Beverly and Lorne. Devoted and loving Baba of Corey and Keith, Howard and Samantha, David and Jesse and Jacki.

Born in Calgary in 1930 during the Depression, Tillie grew up in East Calgary, right near the Stampede grounds. Beloved daughter to the late Faiga and Morris Friedman. Predeceased by her sisters Ida and Toby, and brothers Bill and Leo, and sister-in-law Eva Vinet, brother-in-law Norman Martin. Survived by sisters-in-law, Toba Friedman, Arla Diamond, and Beulah Martin.

Tillie will be forever missed by her nieces and nephews. She was a modern woman, with a great sense of humour.

Funeral Services will be held at the Beth Tzedec Congregation, (1325 Glenmore Trail SW, Calgary, AB)  on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 10:30 am with interment to follow at Erlton Jewish Cemetery. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
