Viorel “Oliver” Rain, beloved husband of Zenia Rain (nee Calora) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the age of 56 years.

Oliver was born in Baziaș-Socol, Romania on June 9, 1968. He immigrated to Calgary, AB, in 1986.

He married Zenia Calora on June 19, 1993.

Oliver was a hard-working father and husband who loved spending time with his family. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren. He spent his free time doing his favourite activities. During the summer, Oliver was most recognizable by his dark golden tan from many hours of basking in the sun, windsurfing, teaching people to windsurf, jet skiing, and enjoying life on the water in general. He enjoyed many sports, like soccer and golf, and he always encouraged others to join in, give their best effort, and did his utmost to ensure everyone was having a good time. Oliver enjoyed drawing, and painting, and of course, after a long day at work, he loved to unwind and relax by sitting on the couch to play his video games.

Oliver was always the person to call when you needed help. He would try his best to solve any problem that was presented to him, especially for his family. He will be most remembered for his loving smile, his ability to befriend every person who entered his life, and

the love he brought to this world. The man with the carefree attitude always cared the most.

Oliver is survived by his loving wife Zenia Rain, his three daughters and one son, Kassandra Zoschke (Tye Zoschke), Andrea Rain (Colton Yaroschak), Bianca Rain (Chris Page), and Roldan Reimer (Faith Schadlich-Reimer); his four grandchildren, Alison, Remy, Leo, and Oliver; and his old puppy Belle.

Oliver is also survived by his two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Doru Rain (Ofelia Rain) and Nicolae Rain (Nia Rain); his nephew and his wife, Liviu Rain (Nicole Rain); and their children, Lucas and Tristan; and many others in Toronto and Romania.

Oliver was predeceased by his parents, Viorica Rain and Nicolae Rain.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
