Condolences
We (Helen and Leo) were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Pierce. He impressively led a long and accomplished life, using his intellect and veterinarian skills to make a positive impact in the World of veterinary medicine while maintaining impressive and successful interpersonal relationships with his local Saint Lucian friends through the St. Lucia Calgary Cultural Association as well as countless others. His interactions were always positively directed with an incredible sense of humor! He was undoubtedly well-respected for his expertise and admired for his warm personality and calm sense of humor and belongingness. We loved him very much!
Despite his impressive career, he always remained down-to-earth, and as a true elder statesman he inspired us and all who happened to be around him. The entire family circle are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
With sympathy and condolences to all of Louisy's family.

I have fond memories of dear Pearse. My late husband Mervyn and Pearse became good friends playing tennis matches at the Elbow Park Tennis Club. They first competed in singles matches and then joined together to win seniors doubles competitions twice. We visited Pearse and Helen in St Lucia and I remember dancing at an all night party outside! Pearse gave a wonderful, humorous speech at Mervyn’s 50th surprise birthday party, which I have on video…
He was a wonderful, intelligent, good natured friend and human being. May his memory be a blessing for all your family and us who shared our lives with him.

I worked at 17th Avenue with Drs Lousiy, Wilson and Christmas when I was in high school and his influence has helped to make me the vet I am today. When he hired me at just 15 years old he said they had never hired anyone that young and it was a two week trial. I worked there for the next 5 years until moving to Saskatoon for Agriculture and veterinary school. I learned people and leadership skills as well as many technical skills during my time there and am always appreciative of the opportunity to work with such an all around excellent person.
What a great man and a great veterinarian. I worked as a locum veterinarian at 17 th Avenue Veterinary Clinic in 1988 and all of the veterinarians there treated me well. But Dr Louisy was especially kind. He made time to discuss cases with me and made me feel like a colleague not just an employee.
Dear Doctor Louisy
We started taking our hounds to him some 60 years ago. It always felt like visiting a friend. From the photo album of animal patients (to which we happily contributed) to his willingness to chat with their handlers, there were always smiles and a profound sense of hospitality. The culture Dr. Louisy created continued with Dr. Christmas and Dr. Wilson: a great legacy beyond outstanding care of our pets. I have only fond memories of a great man and a life well-lived. Condolences to the family as you bid farewell to your patriarch.
