Obituary of Michael Charles Wingate

Michael Wingate of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the age of 70 years.

Michael was born in Scarborough, ON, on October 27, 1954, and moved to Calgary, AB, in the 70s.

Growing up, Michael loved fishing, camping, and boating. In later years, his interest turned to numerous types of arts and crafts.

He will be most remembered for his love of Elvis, cheeseburgers, coffee, and scratch lottery tickets; most days, in that order.

Michael is survived by his mother Anne of Calgary, AB; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Gary (Lynda) of St. Catherines ON, Ron of Calgary, AB, and John (Bridget) of Edinburgh, Scotland; his one sister and brother-in-law, Julie (Clarence) Redden of Calgary, AB; as well as one niece, three nephews, numerous cousins, and friends.

He was predeceased by his father Charles Wingate in 2014.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Dr NE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Prairie Sky Cemetery (12350 84 St SE, Calgary, AB). Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
