Obituary of Francis Felix Hagel

December 13, 1943 – Beiseker, Alberta

November 24, 2024 – Salmon Arm, British Columbia

Francis Hagel, beloved husband of Barbara Hagel (nee Mayson), passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, November 24, 2024, in Salmon Arm, BC at the age of 80 years.

Francis was born in Beiseker, AB on December 13, 1943, to Jean and Aloys Hagel. Francis remained in Beiseker until graduation and then moved to Calgary, where he started his career in the feed business and met his wife, Barb.

In 1973, a new opportunity moved the family to Salmon Arm, BC, where they remained until his passing. Francis was an active member of the community; he was involved in Kinsmen/K-40, curling, golfing, umpiring, and RVing.  All of these leading to many lifelong friendships.

Francis loved his sports teams and would often be found flipping channels between the Canucks, Blue Jays, Raptors or hometown Silverbacks.

Francis will be forever loved and missed by his wife of fifty-seven years, Barbara, his son Chad (Julie), his daughter Jodi and his treasured granddaughter Zoe.

Francis is also survived by his brother Ernie (Leah), sister Donna Till (Al) and many nieces and nephews. Francis was predeceased by his sister Beverly.

A Celebration of Francis’ Life will be held at Bowers Funeral Home (440 10th Street SW, Salmon Arm, BC) on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
