Sandra Welch (nee Forbes) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the age of 74 years.

Sandra was born in Calgary, AB on April 29, 1950.

During her childhood, Sandra moved throughout Alberta, eventually settling in Calgary, and graduating from Ernest Manning High School. Following graduation, Sandra began a career in hospitality, which is how she met her husband of 51 years, Trevor. Sandra married Trevor on March 31, 1973, and they welcomed two children in the years to follow.

While her kids were young, Sandra was a member of the Lions Club and was an avid bowler. Once her children were in school, she resumed working and established herself in the banking industry. Sandra was an accomplished seamstress, making everything from clothes to Christmas décor to Halloween costumes, which her grandchildren proudly wore. She was an amazing cook and was known to produce meals that would rival Gordon Ramsay.

Sandra enjoyed travelling and was able to visit her sister and family on international adventures through Europe, the Caribbean, and the United States, joining Trevor on countless business trips, and of course, zipping to Las Vegas whenever possible.

She will be most remembered for her love of her grandchildren and fondness of pets, of which she had many over the years.

Sandra is survived by her daughter Stacie Woolford (Jim), son Russell Welch (Crystal), and grandchildren Kyan, Blayke, Eric, and Cassandra all of Calgary, AB. Sandra is also survived by her sister Linda Doornbos (Derk), and brother-in-law Michael Welch (Jane) all of Calgary, AB, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sandra was predeceased by her husband Trevor, and her parents, Roy and Lois Forbes.

A Celebration of Sandra and Trevor’s Lives will be held at the Bow Cliff Seniors (3375 Spruce Dr SW, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
