Obituary of Joseph Kulczycki

April 21, 1938 – Vita, Manitoba

December 1, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Joseph “Joe” Kulczycki, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the age of 86 years.

Joe was born in Vita, MB, on April 21, 1938, to Peter and Helen Kulczycki. He earned his millwright ticket in Winnipeg, MB, an achievement of which he was very proud.

He married Connie Mormal in 1962, and shortly thereafter honeymooned in Calgary, AB, where they both decided to settle. They built a home in the Lakeview community in 1965 and lived there until health required that they move to a care facility in the last couple of years.

Joe enjoyed golf, camping, hiking, stained glass, winemaking, and puttering in the garage and garden. Joe always had a project going or was fixing something. He also volunteered at the food bank and at many golf tournaments around Calgary.
 

In addition to his loving wife, Joe is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Geoff), and his son, Kevin. He had four grandchildren: Foster (Monica) and Dustin (Lucy), born to Michelle, and Hailey and Madison, born to Kevin. Joseph also had two great-grandchildren: Maeve, born to Dustin and Lucy, and Wilder, born to Foster and Monica. Joe is also survived by his brothers, Ignace (Lil), Mike, Peter (Donna) and his sisters, Bernice and Marge (Don).

Joe was predeceased by brothers, Paul, Adam, Stan and Nick, and sisters, Polly and Pat.

A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held in early 2025 for family and friends.
